A downloadable mod

A collection of mods for Fallout New Vegas that are small and mostly inconsequential. Desert Rain was the name of a quest mod designed to add a bunch of small-scale side quests to flesh out the world, written in 2025. It has since been cancelled and the script deleted.

  • Babylon Farm: A cozy little farmstead, complete with your own crops and even a dog. Head to the boarded-up house just west of Hunter's Farm and south of Samson Rock Crushing Plant.
  • Courier's Journal: Adds a playable journal that you can write notes and record your thoughts in. It's on the ground just outside Doc Mitchell's house.
  • Grav Jump: A fun little gameplay mod that makes jumping more floaty for all your gun-fu/Matrix-style dreams.
  • Iconic: Restores faction-specific Reputation art that will now appear in notifications and message boxes rather than the generic Vault Boy expressions.
  • Karma Police: Completely removes the stupid Karma binary good or evil system in favour of the much better faction-specific Reputation.
  • Party Banter: Adds 200 lines to all the base game companions that mean they'll now all talk to each other and feel more lively.
  • Stop and Drop: Lightweight bullet time feature that can be customised and activates when aiming.
  • Then Came The Stranger: Adds a Nemesis-style enemy that relentlessly hunts the player. Pick up the Heart in the Goodsprings cemetery to start.
  • VATS That: Simple quality of life feature to disable killcams on right-click.

Developed in 2024.

If anyone asks for this or other mods, please link to this page. This account has everything up-to-date and don't give a certain other website ad revenue.

REQUIREMENTS: Varies, but mostly the original DLC, plus JIP LN NVSE Plugin and the JohnnyGuitar plugin for NVSE.

Most of these are plugin-free and rely on Scriptrunner. This means you can install/uninstall at any time.

Hey I just downloaded TCTS, very good mod though I had a question. Will the Stranger pursue you into DLC locations such as Zion Valley, the Sierra Madre, Big MT and the Divide?

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong with the Stranger mod, but any time they're around, they're always friendly with me, thus making the encounter more or less a staredown with them doing nothing but staring back.

Is there anything I can do to fix that, particularly the parameters I need to tweak within the Faction Compatibility fix?

Open up the text file and scroll to the bottom. It talks through how faction compatibility works and the steps to tailor aggression, etc. to your liking.

I've tried messing around with those settings with no luck. I just want to stranger to essentially be invisible to everyone but me. It seems like that's the default settings, but NCR still fight me when he shows up.

Hey Craftian, any idea why NCR goes hostile when the Stranger shows up? The patch didn't fix the issue for me.

If you read the bottom of the file, it talks through how the fix works and how you can manually change it to work with specific factions in your load order. It's the best compromise based on how AI and faction relationships work in the engine.

To make sure I understand correctly, in my case I would change:

SetEnemy LETrangerFaction NCRFactionNV 1 1

to

SetAlly LETrangerFaction NCRFactionNV 1 1

Is that right? Or do I change the numbers to zero? Also, just curious what type of mods you think might be causing the conflict in the first place? Thanks again, I appreciate the help.

That should set them as enemies.

hey i'm loving these mods man, i just have a slight problem about courier's journal, the things i wrote before i made my new character are still there, and i was just wondering if you have a config or text file that keeps the data?i tried using xEdit but dead end there, i'll reinstall the mod for now, but i'm still asking incase i make a new character. also it would be pretty good making it a text file or something so i dont have to screenshot my pip boy 10 times lol

I must be missing something pretty obvious but I cannot seem to open the Courier's journal in game. I have everything installed correctly as far as I know and I've tried to open it using both keyboard and controller and I just can't get it to work. Any ideas? It shows up in my inventory but anything past that is a no-go.

sorry but did you try the aid section?

I'm having an issue downloading TCTS, i tried putting the .esp file in my mod folder through vortex and it wasnt loaded into the game, and when i launched the game it was as if nothing changed. same with if i put the entire .zip file. How can i fix this?

Not sure. That doesn't tell me much. Make sure the .esp is ticked in your mod manager, it sounds like it's not enabling for some reason. And you have the NVSE plugins.

I strongly recommended everyone uses the Faction Compatibility Fix file too. It will help with edge cases based on your particular load order.

Was 100% my fault, i was drag and dropping the files instead of extracting to my data folder. Mod works perfectly now, sorry for the hassle lol
