A downloadable mod

Celestine is a Lawful Good cleric companion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, someone who has given her entire existence to bringing Stendarr's might and mercy to a faithless world. For only in death does duty end.

In terms of alignment, she's definitely more Lawful than (traditional) Good as her moral code is absolute and she has little patience for anyone that gets in the way.

My 13th follower, biggest to date and the last one. Developed in 2025. To find her, head towards the Blue Palace in Solitude.

If anyone asks for this or other mods, please link to this page. This account has everything up-to-date and don't give a certain other website ad revenue.

REQUIREMENTS: Only the original DLC, plus SkyUI for MCM settings. Follow the FOMOD instructions for more.

She was made with a custom framework, so NFF, AFT, UFO, etc. are not supported. Use them at your own risk.

Celestine was voiced by Thea Solone.

The update file appears to overwrite the SEAE version with the LE plugin. It's being flagged as form 43.

People keep asking about it, so here's the summon spell available on the patches page, in addition to the MCM option. You can add it via the console with player.addspell xxxx5902. There's also a bunch of compatibility patches for Celestine like the Blue Palace.

Here's the Beyond Reach 3.0 update as well. Keep in mind this was unvoiced but it's all there, bringing the total up to around 2,300 lines.

Finally, for people asking about the modding/CK tutorials, you can find them unlisted here. Check the description for the timestamps and resources.

Humbly requesting a version of her that is okay with following a vampire protagonist. I know, its against her character, but man I really wanted to have her in my vampire playthrough. Or at least let me know what to edit on the plugin to remove her hostile against vampire/werewolf. I actually tried hard to do it myself but i couldnt figure out what needed to be deleted.

I'm about 20 hours into a save and unfortunately I have to abandon Celestine as she's just getting stuck too often.  She got stuck at Stendarrs Beacon and is now stuck in Dimhollow Crypt where she started to say something and then stopped.  I realize it's likely a mod interaction (I'm using 3 other custom followers) but it doesn't seem to happen with any other followers.  Voice acting is amazing!  If I ever decide to lighten my load order, I'll definitely reconsider.  At any rate, thank you for your work!

I’m reaching out ( I tried to find a way to send you a private message but couldent firue it out) to ask your permission to include your wonderful follower mods Celestine, Nessa, and Light and Shade in my upcoming safe for work Wabbajack list for Skyrim called True North.

I’ve been a huge fan of your work for a long time, and honestly can’t imagine the list without these followers.

Unfortunately, I ran into a technical limitation: Itch.io direct download links don’t work with Wabbajack (they return javascript:void(0); instead of a file). Because of this, the only way to include your mods is to package the ESP and files as part of the Wabbajack download. To be clear:

  • I would not upload or redistribute your mods individually.

  • The files would only be included within the compiled Wabbajack installation package for the mod list True North ONLY. (any other wabbajack lists wanting to include your mods will still need your direct permission)

  • Full credit and links back to your original mod page would be given in the readme and modlist documentation. (likely front page)

alternatively, if you dont mind uploading as a  google drive, mega, or github etc, then wabbajack could also recognize your mods that way. (I understand thats a pain)

I completely understand if you’d prefer not to grant permission.

If you’d like to see the kind of work I’ve done, here’s my Nexus profile with my own mods:
https://next.nexusmods.com/profile/TrumanAE

Sure, go for it. Some people were talking about the inline(?) method over on Orpheus' page a while back, but I don't know the first thing about Wabbajack since I've never used it.

tysm ! Once its up ill send the link 🙌🙌🙌🙌

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/160623?tab=files

thanks again here is the modlist im so happy you allowed me to include your work.

do you have a email or another contact method ?

Hello! I am having a problem with the Trial by Fire quest at the start:

Celestine and I went to Wolfskull Cave and cleared it and the quest now says to go to Solitude. Fast traveled to Solitude and went into the Blue Palace and talked to Falk Firebeard and Celestine doesn't do anything. She is now resting against a wall outside the Blue Palace and the quest doesn't continue. Is there a way to make the quest move forward or use console commands to do so?

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you have something that changes the interior layout of the Blue Palace and you haven't hit the trigger that's near the door. You'll need to use setstage to progress and get her to walk upstairs.

The way it should work is you enter the Blue Palace, hit the trigger just inside the door, she walks upstairs as you go and talk to Firebeard and then once you've completed The Man Who Cried Wolf, the quest will prompt you to look around for where she's at. It's just outside the door to Stentor's room.

Thanks a lot for your reply!

I have a mod that changes textures of Solitude but I think that if the trigger was at the door it could be that when I came into the Blue Palace I had a lot of followers with me so I didn't spawn at the door but further in.

What setstage do I need to use to progress her quest?

Installed the mod and as soon as I meet her, she wants to kill me already.

Hey Craftian, Celestine vanishes out of thin air after or during dialogue upon leaving the Blue Palace, should I just use setqueststage to skip "Trial by Fire" ?

(1 edit)

If you have Skyfall's Blue Palace Courtyard or Thay's Blue Palace Overhaul, they can prevent Celestine from spawning after receiving the man who cried wolf quest. This link here leads to the old page with the patches Craftian provided (alternatively, you can search it up using the web archive for it, as I get not trusting a random link). I will remove it if Craftian doesn't want me posting it here.

Please edit your comment and remove the links to Nexus or archives. You can find the same patches on the Patches Pandemonium page, I reuploaded everything there and it's the same.

My fault, I just removed it

Hey Craftian, could you please include a version number in the file name so that I (and everyone else) can tell when you've updated it and we need to update our copies?!  Thanks!!!

Sure, but like the description mentions, these are all the most up-to-date versions of every mod, i.e. Celestine is 2.6, as they were at the final release. They're not potentially archives of older files like a certain other site.

I'm also not going to work on or update any mods, so these really are the final, final versions. The most complete, most patched, most supported, etc. They're the only ones people should be playing.

If you're using something like MO2, it should also show the version during install because most of these come in a FOMOD. You can alternatively open the info.xml file inside the .zip to check.

Oh, okay, well I’m glad that they’re all done and finalized, but sad to see you go!  So long, and thanks for all the fish mods!

great mod, but why you didn't make able her to end the daedric quest "taste of death" by a natural rejection of the namira in the altar?

I have a character named Tiff that I like to play as sometimes. Their story was they were turned into a vampire against their will and cannot be cured (I think being able to cure what is effectively a curse to be cheap) and they are very lawful/chaotic good at different points of their story. They have dedicated themself to destroying vampires and daedra, but I'm unsure if Celestine would be able to fit into that story. Basically, I am asking if she is fully against allying with a vampire regardless of their own morals?

Short answer is, no. Keep in mind there's no way from me to check for headcanons or a particular RP that players have. She's a zealot and doesn't distinguish between bloodthirsty monsters and morally conflicted vampires.

If you really want to have her along for your playthrough, you could try that Celestine villains patch someone made on The Mod Site That Shall Not Be Named™. How you want to justify that to your character is entirely up to you, that's not my business, I'm just talking about it from a technical standpoint to stop the confrontations occurring.

Keep in mind, however, that I had nothing to do with that and don't endorse it. Any issues you'll need to speak with the author about.

Thank you for your answer! I'll keep her in mind for any future playstyles I try.

First off, I wanted to say that Celestine is an amazing mod and an even greater follower. I've already played Dawnguard with her and she's just always had something interesting to say. Sometimes she can come off as off putting, but that just speaks to her great character writing.

Because of that, I know that she wouldn't be the ideal follower for everyone, but I love playing as a cleric, so having a fellow cleric with me just suits my playstyle.

In addition, I'm actually playing the Beyond Reach 3.0 update with Celestine using the Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice mod, and what I thought was already peak with Dawnguard is surpassed with her commentary for Beyond Reach. I find myself often having to reload or play close attention to the subtitles just to see what she has to say for the mod's main quest or the side quests, and it's always something enriching or lore expansive. My favorite so far, and a slight spoiler warning for those who haven't made it their, has to be when we travel through the gate of oblivion, and seeing her in mehrunes dagon's plane and how shook she feels was chilling.

It saddens me that due to the conflict that occured with the voice actor, we weren't able to hear Celestine's voice be brought to life for this mod, but I don't mind too much since the words alone in her dialogue are able to bring to life how she feels and how she reacts.

I can't wait to finish the rest of Beyond Reach with Celestine and then move on to the Main Quest, Vigilant, and the Dragonborn DLC with her. Thanks again Craftian for such an amazing mod, and I hope that you do well in whatever you set your mind to next.

Thanks mate. I put a lot of work into the Beyond Reach update, so glad to see people still enjoy it.

If I can be bothered, I'll upload it properly here at some point, but here's the file for other people looking for it for now. (FOMOD ready.)

Amazing Mod ! I played with her during part of vigilant quest and that's was fun.

I wonder two thing : can you do the thieves quests guild before meeting her ? Or she turn instantly hostile ?

Did you plan to do comments for the mod Meridia's Order ? For me, it's a good prequel before doing VIGILANT.

completely random question, me and some friends were debating her age, did you have a specific age range you were going for while making the character?

30s. She has a line referencing Talos following the White-Gold Concordat, so she would've been a child around the time of the Great War.

Craftian do you have any issues with your mods on Itch being added to Wabbajack Modlists?

Go for it.

TY SIR

Incredible work.

Just finished Dawnguard and Vigilant with her along and she's easily one of the best followers skyrim's modding scene has to offer. Both your writing and the VA's work are stellar. It's ballsy to have her actually get fed up with things that go against her (His?) will, but damn it pays off - she actually has substance.

Too bad about what's happened IRL, would've loved to see more of her.

After taking her to the beacon, she sits and prays and will spit out1 liners when spoken to. Was a new quest supposed to start?

Edit:

setstage to 20 and the quest proceeded. Glad I get to keep using her !

2nd edit: placing celestine lower in load order fixed everything (obvious I know)

Hello Craftian, long time fan of your work. Sorry to see people leaving the Nexus but I get it. Celestine's really good, I like all your little nods to other puritanical characters in videogames. Argenta and Regill are some of my favorite characters in RPG's. And I like that her concept actually makes her too inflexible to come along for some quests. That was a bold decision and refreshing in contrast to the toothlessness that is a lot of TES  games and mods.

I've experienced a glitch with a different mod that's requiring me to empty my followers inventories to troubleshoot. When I get to her, using "~removeallitems player" causes a CTD. Is there anything in her inventory that's not supposed to make it to the player? Cheers

Maybe her armour? Not sure about that one. I'm pretty sure it's just Xbox that gets the prayer book but I don't know, I haven't looked at anything mod related in ages. If you know how to use xEdit, you can manually remove the items from her NPC record yourself.

That makes sense, her armor is NPC only or something right? I ended up just "~removeallitems" and dismissing her which seemed to repopulate her inventory with her default gear and fixed my bug. Hopefully that prayerbook spawned too.

cool mod. good conversations and thought through.

I mean...she is what the mod says. A Lawful good character. Or maybe a Lawful Stupid one?

What I mean she isn't really usable in a true playthrough of the game. Except you want her to turn on you. Because that will happen. If you see this as a dramatic turn of events...brilliant.

If you want to have a follower for the entire game...she is not. So it means at some moment she is wasting a mod slot.

And...as entering Solitude is most the times something that happens very late to the game (for me) you are probably instant attacked by her what has good chances to become an enemy of the entire region. As her instant attacking with a bunch of guards around usually make you hit one of those guards and your game is kind of over. It really is as you can't get around her as she blocks the way to the blue palace.  With "stopquest CelestineConfrontations" you can avoid that debacle...but then you still have a useless mod installed.

But that doesn't diminish a well created Character who doesn't make short cuts for convenience. You just need to know that she is only really good for that one way of playing never able to make a "wrong" choice.

She's a Lawful Good zealot and does not fall. People can take it or leave it, but it's hardly some big surprise.

She is a lawful zealot, but even by DnD standards I wouldn't call her "good". "Lawful Neutral" (where "lawful" first and foremost is "under the command of gods") perhaps? On the one hand Elder Scrolls, as a universe, doesn't really support oldschool aligment system with grey moral everwhere, and on the other "Skyrim" as a game is way too narrow on story choices for Celestine to fit.

Otherwise she's great, yeah.

Omg! I want to squish her little face! She's too adorable!

She's been adventuring for a while now with a self proclaimed paladin of Zenithar.

Half the time she's probably in her head calling this greenhorn adventuring kid probably a decade younger than her ( he's 22 ) an idiot. The other times she's like, "This is nice, having someone to travel with." 10% of the time is her and him butting heads over moral choices.

Hey y'all, wondering if anyone else is running into an issue where you take Celestine to the Beacon and she just... wanders away off into the wilderness at a snail's pace. For context I'm using the Tempus Maledictum modlist.

I'm having a similar issue.  I took her to the beacon and she heard the voice... we decided to leave and she just stood there.  I went to Fort Dawnguard hoping she was just travelling slowly but found her back at the beacon.  She spoke about Isran but again... just stands there at the beacon.  I've got the summon spell but am hesitant to use it this early in my save (it warns to only use it in emergency situations).  What is the danger in using the summon option?  Will it break anything?

Hi everyone (sorry for the wall of text but i had to add a little bit of context).

By sheer luck i found your mod "Celestine" and wanted to try it. My playthrough is a bit advanced though (lvl 35) and i have done a lot of quests. I also have a modlist installed, through Wabbajack, called OCM, i dont think it is still available. Also have a few extra followers (none of wich where with me at the time) and "Protheus" (powerfull mod).

Anyway, i wanted to try this follower but as soon as i met her for the first time in Solitude, she started attacking me. Probably because i was a wherewolf at the time, just did the Companions questline. I also did a few Daedric questlines (Meridia, Namira "for good guys" mod, Molag Bal, Vaermina, Peryite) but always tried to complete them being the "good guy". So i went back to a earlier save and went to cure myself. Not good enough, she still attacked me (after failing a speech test), tried using "Proteus" to level my speech but to no avail, she just attacks me even after passing the speech skill test. Looked online for a solution and found it in a small mod called "Merciful Celestine". That helped for a while, i was able to clear out Wolfskull Cave with her by my side and could complete her quest "Trial by Fire". After that she went back to her veangefull self. After getting her out of prison and arriving just outside the gates of Solitude she starts mumbling about me not being able to decieve her anymore after wich she attacks me. I tried everything i could think of... Creating a new character with "Proteus", and even messing with the "stopquest CelestineConfrontations", "disable", "recyle actor", "enable", "tcai" and "tai" commands but nothing works. She is determend to kill me. For now i went back to a earlier save in wich she is in prison after i spoke with the guard to release her. She is sitting in her Cell meditating waiting for me to talk to her. I will leave her there for now.

I realy hope somebody can help me, i realy want her with me during the "Vigilant"-mod questline.

having a problem with her starting quest Trial By Fire, i talk to the guard, then to her, then the objective updates to enter the Blue Palace, but she just wanders off to castle dour and no matter how long i wait in the blue palace (even picking up The Man Who Cried Wolf) she doesn't show up and the quest doesnt update

Go inside the Blue Palace after that little intro, get the quest from Falk and then walk back outside. She'll be waiting in the courtyard.

huh ive got something in my giant city mod bash that's messing with that area. working now

Thank you, Craftian for making your mods available here.
Celestine is incredible.

I had a question: How many quests does Celestine have? Once we have completed Trial By Fire and she is now a companion, how do we start her next quest?

I showcased her intro quest here.
I look forward to her Vigilant SE commentary.

Thanks again for giving so much to the TES community.

Two with her intro. Head to Riften Hold and she'll prompt you to talk.

Hey love the Celestine mod is there anyway I could patch her to where she never turns on the player even if Vampire. Cause I was thinking of role playing a Vampire that hunts Vampires sort of like Blade.  I alsohave destroy the thieves guild mod, and worried she will attack me because the quest considers you part of the thieves guild even though you are not.

so I downloaded her, and recruited her, did the entire wolf skull cave quest with her. Then I immediately went to the Stendarr’s Beacon right after, and her quest started. After that quest, it’s been on “Continue adventure” for a good min (roughly 8 hours of play through with her doing quests and even the house of horrors).

did going to Stendarr’s beacon early mess anything up? Does she have affinity/approval levels?

The 'Continue adventure' objective is because time needs to pass. It's whatever level you were at the time + 5, then all you need to do is sleep.

Oh ok thanks

I'm getting a requirement for "Vigilant.esm" Master for CelestineVigilant.esp in MO2.  Do you know where I can obtain this file?

You've installed the optional VIGILANT addon. You need VIGILANT by Vicn, a famous Souls-inspired quest mod, if you want her to react, comment, etc. on that mod.
