Lately I've been fascinated with movement-focused mechanics. Not just a movement shooter, but the idea of basing the whole game around it. First I had an endless runner going, then an old school, more of a standard boomer shooter wave survival type thing, and now this.
The idea was to push the player forwards with breakneck speed and style. You'd have a bomb in your neck with the timer constantly ticking down, but each kill as people swarm you buys you more room to breathe.
I've spent so much goddamn time the past few days beating my head against the wall of proper AI and trying to get animations working for ranged attacks that I've hit burnout with this bloody thing. Still uploading it for anyone who wants to have a shot at playing this demo/test thingamajig, but at least for the moment, I'm dropping it for my own sanity.
The dismemberment system and mesh slicing is cool, but it's buggy and I can't be bothered sinking more time into this than I have already.
